Відділ
преси, освіти та культури Посольства США в Києві підтримує низку
інформаційних центрів у різних регіонах України.
Серед
них і Дніпровський центр „Вікно в Америку”, створений у 2004
році, який входить до складу Дніпропетровської обласної універсальної
наукової бібліотеки.
Основу
центру складає колекція книжок, відеофільмів та CD-ROM, що
була надана Відділом преси,
освіти та культури Посольства США в Україні.
Центр
“Вікно в Америку” є місцем проведення різноманітних заходів,
метою яких є спілкування між українцям та американцями.
Місія
центру полягає у сприянні взаєморозумінню між США та Україною.

PROJECT OF THE U.S. EMBASSY in Ukraine
The
Window on America Center in Dnipro is designed to provide
up-to date information on the United States.
The
mission of our Center is to promote mutual understanding between
the United States and Ukraine.
The
Center accomplishes this by: providing information about U.S.
history, government, society and values to Ukrainian audiences;
providing access to Internet resources; and serving as a focal
point for U.S. assistance and exchange programs.
In
the Center “Window on America” people of different age and
social status have an equal access to information about History,
Government, Society and national values of the USA.
Our
Resources:
• Collection of English language edition books – 2000 examples;
•
Encyclopedias, dictionaries;
• Electronic resources on CD’s;
• Video- and DVD-collection of modern and classic American
movies.
Services
offered by our Center:
• Free Internet access;
• Free access to our book collection;
• Loaning of fiction books;
• Movie Club – movie screening (Wednesday,
5:00 p.m.);
• English Speaking Club – meetings with Americans, lectures,
exhibits, presentations, video conferences.
Our
English Speaking Club is ideal for those who are eager to
improve their
English.
Here you can talk to native speakers, listen to lectures,
watch exhibits, presentations, and take part in video conferences.
Our
Ukrainian volunteers take an active part in preparing information
for discussion.
We invite you to communicate English at our English Speaking
Club! (Saturday at 2:00 p.m)
